He also became the fifth Portuguese player to score 20 or more goals in the Premier League.
Fernandes began his professional career at Novara, then moved to Udinese and Sampdoria where he made 33 appearances and scored five goals.

He then moved to Sportind in 2017, making 83 appearances for the club, scoring 39 goals and then moving to England.
United are second in the Premier League with 44 points and host Everton on February 6 in Week 23.
