The Osun government canceled the celebration of the independence of Nigeria

Nigerian Independence day

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has canceled the celebration of Nigeria's independence across the state.

A statement issued by the spokesperson of the governor, Olawale Rasheed, said that governor Adeleke requested the people of Osun state to use the time to pray for peace in Nigeria. "Let's use the independence day to pray for our state and the country.

People are in difficult situations. It's time to ask God for relief in our affairs," said Governor Adeleke. This year's celebration is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 1, 2023, to celebrate Nigeria's 63rd year of independence from the British colonial rule.

Thank you.
