Haaland continues to set a record in the number of goals scored

Erling Haaland became the top scorer in Manchester City in one season as he continues to make history in the field of the lead window.

The Norway international scored five goals in City's 7-0 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The Etihad team advanced to the next round with an 8-1 win, after they drew 1-1 in February in the first leg of the round of 16 in the European Champions League.

His five-goal haul against Leipzig on Tuesday became the third-highest feat in the competition, after Lionel Messi for Barcelona against Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 and Luiz Adriano for Shakhtar Donetsk against BATE Borisov in 2014.

So far, Haaland has scored 33 goals in 25 games in the Champions League, becoming the youngest player to score more than 30 goals at the age of 22 years and 236 days.

The previous record holder is Kyalian Mbappe, who surpassed Haaland by 116 days.

The former player of Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund scored more goals in the Champions League than Wayne Rooney, Kaka and Samuel Eto'o.
