The Nigerian government has lifted the census

The Nigerian government has postponed the census that was scheduled to begin on March 29 to next May.

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this to the press shortly after the conclusion of the meeting of the Executive Council of the country chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

Lai Mohammed said that the decision to postpone the census was necessary after the country's electoral commission postponed the election of governors to March 18, instead of the 11th as previously planned.

Thank you.
